SUMMARY:#RALJ2026 — Submissions Are Now Open
DESCRIPTION:The Rainbow Awards for Literature & Journalism are back for their 4th Edition — celebrating honest\, authentic queer writing across Fiction\, Non-Fiction\, Book Cover\, Feature\, and Op-Ed.  \nOpen to residents of India and persons of Indian origin. You don’t need to identify as LGBTQIA+ to apply — what matters is the authenticity and craft of your work. Eligible works must have been published between 1 June 2025 and 31 May 2026. Winners will receive a cash prize\, a citation\, and complimentary access to the Rainbow Literature Festival.  \nAll shortlisted participants will also receive festival access. Entries will be assessed by an 11-member jury on merit\, craft\, originality\, and contribution to queer narratives. Shortlists will be announced in December 2026. Winners will be announced at our annual Rainbow Lit Fest.  \nSubmit by 31 July 2026 at https://therainbowawards.in/ or write to contact@therainbowawards.in.

SUMMARY:Queer Intersections: Call for Entries
DESCRIPTION:Queerness and disability do not exist as separate experiences — they shape and inform one another in ways that are complex\, political\, and deeply personal. Queer Intersections is calling for narrative non-fiction that explores this intersection honestly and courageously. \nWe welcome submissions from queer and trans writers who identify as persons with disability. Themes may include care\, desire\, body politics\, mental health\, family\, language\, joy\, and resistance. Submissions should be 2\,000–3\,000 words in English (translations from Indian languages welcome). Only previously unpublished work will be considered.
